The History of P.I.T.T.logo tiny

"Oklahoma's Elite Paranormal Research Team"
                                   ~ Fox News

MISSION STATEMENT:
P.I.T.T. is dedicated to the discovery and study of paranormal phenomena through the use of scientific, psychological and psychic resources.

Our journeys began when Teri (PITT Founder) worked at a site back in 1994 that had really strange activity going on.  Although Teri has always been interested in the paranormal this experience (as an adult) made her dig deeper into the world of the unknown.   From this experience she went to the internet for answers and realized that people actually research the paranormal.  Since then, this has been a passion she didn't let go of.  She joined a team in Oklahoma City since there were no teams in Tulsa at that time and worked in OKC for just under 2 years doing paranormal research with a fairly new team there, as well.  With encouragement from her colleagues she started a team in Tulsa - and that is how PITT was born!  PITT was conceived in December of 2000 and was the only investigation team in Tulsa at that time.

P.I.T.T. feels very honored and blessed to have received the many opportunities we have and the accomplishments that only our team has made. In 2001 we worked with FOX23 News in a local TV series called "Tulsa Haunts" and investigated such famous landmarks such as the Gilcrease Home, Brady Theater, Cain's Ballroom and Tulsa Garden Center.  This series lasted for a year and was a stepping stone for the next major project.  In 2003 the PITT team was contacted by a production company in Los Angeles who worked with The Travel Channel and they needed PITT's help to do some filming in Tulsa.   The production company came out and filmed with the PITT team on what was yet another stepping stone for another project.  The Travel Channel segments that were filmed in Tulsa can still be seen on the Travel Channel today.  Watch for "Haunted & Mysterious Rt. 66" and "Haunted Theaters" and you just might see the PITT team along with the legendary Cain's Ballroom and Brady Theater!

This production company loved the way the PITT team looked and acted on camera and asked if they could use footage from the Travel Channel filming to "Pitch" our team for a TV show.  This happened and the pilot was picked up by WE tv in November of 2004.  The filming took place in 2005 and the TV pilot aired in October of 2006.  At this time the pilot is not going to series, but the PITT team had a blast and is very grateful for the one-in-a-lifetime opportunity that was given to us.  The TV pilot named "Ghost Moms" is not currently re-airing.

Teri French, founder is the proprietor of "Tulsa Spirit Tours" which are a haunted history tour of Tulsa that has been successful for the past 7 years. Tours run in the Spring and Fall and more information can be found on the Events page.

Our members bring together a perfect blend of talent, experience and educated people.   Each member of the team is vital to the operation and plays a very significant role in the team as a whole. All PITT members contribute their time, money and resources to further the field of paranormal research. We do not claim to be experts because when dealing with the 'unknown' we feel there are no experts. We are an open minded group pledged to being fair and honest with our research.  All PITT members have either had a personal experience or are trained to deal with such.  This affords us the ability to support, understand and respond to those in need with knowledge, insight and understanding.

P.I.T.T. is a team based on technical know-how as well as other talents and gifts to research the paranormal. Our team will only bring you true, unbiased accounts of what we've experience during our investigations and we always leave the data up to the viewer to decide. We do not use Ouija Boards, perform séances or "rid a dwelling" of "ghosts". We are simply trying to prove or disprove (both are important) the existence of ghosts.

The P.I.T.T. team is regularly seen in the local media venues such as TV, print and radio talking about Tulsa's local haunts! We have built a solid reputation on trust, integrity, and ethics we display in our investigations and have earned a highly coveted and respected name in our community of which we are very proud. Our reputation of honesty, commitment, integrity and diligence follows us wherever we go.

Our investigations are ALWAYS FREE due to our love and passion of the subject. We do not feel we could ask for money in return for the privilege to investigate the unknown. We know our work has value however, so P.I.T.T. appreciates donations, but they are neither expected or required.

P.I.T.T. is a federally recognized corporation.  PITT received their Federal Tax ID and incorporation papers in August, 2005.  Being incorporated allows us to bring fun things to the public as a "business" and protects the interest of the team.

We hope this site encourages others to question this exciting realm of possibilities. Realizing not all things are as they seem, we seek more knowledge of what is out there, and hope to shed some light on the unending list of questions.

After all....the truth is stranger than fiction!

P.I.T.T. Equipment logo tiny

The PITT team uses a small arsenal of equipment to measure the environmental fields.  We monitor the conditions and check for changes in them when there seems to be paranormal activity occurring.  In addition to the equipment we use our common sense, intuition (since activity seems to be highly cognitive) and a stringent protocol to help us obtain the cleanest data possible.  We are a team that is not "sloppy" or careless in our data collection.  We are quite proud of our collection process...after all, we are trying to figure out the answers as well.  Here is a list of the equipment we currently have in our bags:

Awards

The awards below were presented to PITT from our colleagues in the paranormal community. The awards seen here are different in that PITT did not "apply" to receive them. They were given to us for merit, accomplishment and acknowledgement. Many of the awards seen on paranormal websites were received through the process of "applying" and we're proud to say these were given to us without request.

Missouri Ghost Hunters Society - Ghost Hunters Award

Missouri Ghost Hunters Society - Ghostly Site Award

Castle of Haunts - Paranormal Excellence Award - PITT
