Mike
Buckendorf hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma and is the PITT team’s resident history
buff. He began cultivating an active interest in this pursuit during college,
reaching its peak in 1992 when he and his Aunt Deb began a series of
investigations at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Their
expeditions there covered several trips over the course of the next year and a
half and culminated in a book his Aunt wrote about the hotel’s haunted history.
The book has been optioned for a documentary, but currently remains in
pre-production.
After
several years’ hiatus, Mike’s interest in the paranormal re-emerged after
hearing about PITT and he petitioned to join. As a student of history, Mike has
pursued uncovering some of the hidden truths about Tulsa’s spectral past,
particularly regarding the Tulsa Race Riots of 1921.
Aside
from paranormal investigation, Mike is an active World War Two living history
re-enactor, a vocalist with the band Zink Park, an amateur filmmaker, a comic
illustrator, a writer of historical science fiction, and an actor with
Mahenwadose Productions. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in
Teaching, Learning and Leadership at Oklahoma State University. Mike has two
children who are also gifted in the arts.
Awards
The awards below were presented to PITT from our colleagues in the paranormal community. The awards seen here are different in that PITT did not "apply" to receive them. They were given to us for merit, accomplishment and acknowledgement. Many of the awards seen on paranormal websites were received through the process of "applying" and we're proud to say these were given to us without request.
